At the same time, Hugo Cantarra draws inspiration from his DJ sets and constantly evolves his music to build better emotions during his performances. Overall, ‘Vibration’ is a testament to these two rising stars’ talent and creates synergy in the electronic music scene.
What was the inspiration behind ‘Vibration’, and how did you both develop the idea to incorporate elements from Loleatta Holloway’s classic ‘Love Sensation’?
The track was a demo I worked on in 2020 and couldn’t finish. When Hugo reached for a collab and worked on the track, he was the one to put the Love Sensation sample which worked perfectly.
How did you approach collaborating on this track, and what was the creative process like?
Hugo reached to me in 2021 over a zoom call to work on a track together. The track really came naturally and was finished in a couple of weeks.
‘Vibration’ brings a heavy dose of high-energy prog house energy. What drew you both to this particular genre and what do you hope listeners take away from the track?
I think it’s the kind of track that makes people dance and forget about the world, be lost in the music. It’s all about the groove and the vibe.
Matt, as an established producer in the progressive scene, what have been some of the challenges you’ve faced in your career, and how have you overcome them?
My biggest challenge is to find new goals and challenges. It’s been nearly 11 years already and I feel like I’ve checked all boxes in my goal list, so I have to find new ones.
Hugo, you’ve become a staple of the melodic house scene in recent years. What sets your music apart from other artists in the genre, and how do you stay inspired and motivated to create new music?
All my motivation is coming from my DJ sets, I’m living for that and I’m creating new music to fit my sets in order to build better and better emotions during my performances. You always need your sets to evolve especially when you like to play long ones like me!!
