Released this past Friday, veteran synthwave and bass artist F.O.O.L has unveiled his mesmerizing debut album, MACHINE. Out on Monstercat Uncaged, this 14-track compilation melts together a broad spectrum of genres, from droning techno to jaw-dropping bass.

Another exciting aspect of MACHINE is its presence in the gaming realm, with half the album featured in Rocket League. This unique crossover underlines F.O.O.L’s ability to captivate diverse audiences and adds a dynamic layer to the album’s identity. The fusion of music and gaming enhances the overall experience for fans, as F.O.O.L draws inspiration from Blade Runner and Cyberpunk 2077.

Arguably the most incredible component of the new project is how F.O.O.L was able to unite with some of the biggest names in retrowave music. This musical odyssey features INHUMAN, THIRST, Waveshaper, Extra Terra, A.L.I.S.O.N, hayve, PYLOT, JNATHYN, and SKUM. Together, their collaborations crush the barriers of production and sound, reigning in the future of bass music.

MACHINE is a testament to F.O.O.L’s commitment to diversity, staying true to his distinct sound while exploring a range of influences. From the upbeat and delicate “Rewind” to the otherworldly sonic battle in “Duality” and the Middle Eastern soundscapes in “Survive,” the album weaves a dynamic musical tapestry.

In addition to these anthems, F.O.O.L’s collaboration with A.L.I.S.O.N on “Vibrance” is a soft and emotional sonic landscape that gives off the feeling of floating through space. Another standout is “Motor” with THIRST, an intense mixture of phonk, echoing police sirens, and spellbinding bass.

Reflecting on this immersive project, F.O.O.L had this to say:

“‘MACHINE’ is an invitation to my new sound that developed at the start of 2020. The concept behind this album is that F.O.O.L is hooked up to a machine, which is making him evolve and become more powerful, symbolic of how I have evolved my sound. For a little over a decade now, I have been creating and experimenting with all different kinds of genres across the world of electronic music. It is not until now that it finally feels like I am creating the type of music that I was destined to.”

Short for ‘Fuck Out Ordinary Lives’, the F.O.O.L narrative is centered around a heroic time-traveler from the 80s who sets up his base of operations in 2092. He ventures into the past and future to solve crimes and bring villains to justice. MACHINE represents the source of his powers, and is accompanied by breathtaking album mix and visualizer.

Be on the lookout for F.O.O.L, as this debut LP foreshadows his thrilling journey ahead. You can expect more spine-tingling anthems in the near future as F.O.O.L’s story continues to unravel.
