WHAT IS THE LAPTOP SLING
The 171 Laptop Sling is a versatile cross-body bag designed to accommodate your work essentials while maintaining a stylish appearance. Its main compartment features a padded tech sleeve, suitable for a 14″ MacBook Pro, with additional space for accessories such as a compact camera, headphones, and a water bottle. Interior mesh pockets keep tech essentials organized, while multiple exterior pockets provide easy access to smaller items and valuables.
With the dimensions of 36 W x 25 H x 9.5 D cm and a weight of just shy of two pounds, this bag offers ample storage without compromising on portability. Crafted from environmentally certified full-grain Italian leather from Gruppo Mastrotto, the 171 Laptop Sling exudes quality and durability.

Now that we have examined the logistics of the laptop sling, let’s consider what I really thought about this prediction.
WHAT I LIKED ABOUT THE LAPTOP SLING
Visual Aesthetic and Material
From the moment it arrived, the aesthetic was consistent. The box was made of thick black cardboard with the phrase, “Obviously you’ve made a great choice” printed in a white, professional-looking font. Once opening the box, the sling is inside a sleek protective bag, which you can throw over whenever you want to prevent the bag from risk of getting scuffed or dirty.
Everything (except the zippers and strap) is crafted from the sturdy yet smooth Italian leather mentioned above. I like how even the piece that you grab to pull the zipper is made from that same leather. Also, an external zipper pocket on each side is ideal for fitting passports and wallets when traveling or small handheld notebooks.
Multiple Pockets and Interior Design
On top of the external pockets, the inside of this bag is fitted with various storage options, each specifically designed for common objects you would put in your laptop bag. It is cool how the tan-coated inside has a black rectangle in the middle that highlights where the bag is made and the code to track down the exact process and location behind its creation.
This adds an element of professionalism and sophistication to the laptop sling’s overall appearance.
The Velcro section, designated for your laptop, leads to saved space in the other areas of the interior. The most useful pockets for me were the three non-zipper ones on the side opposite to the laptop compartment. One is more narrow and is primed for putting a couple of pens in.
The other two are wider, leaving ample room for your laptop charger, a phone charger, and the phone itself if you prefer not to carry it on your person. Additional custom pockets are fitted for things like an Apple Air Tag, USBs, small snacks, paper, or a small to medium-sized book.
Functionality and Durability for Traveling and Activities
What makes this bag a great option for the road is its side strap. If you are in the airport or taking the train, you can slide the strap right over your suitcase so you do not have to worry about having the sling over your shoulder. The adjustable strap for the shoulder can be tightened or made to have enough slack to be compatible with people of all types of shapes and sizes.
For a short guy like me, it can be tough to find a bag that will not hang super low and look uncomfortable; once I adjusted the strap, the laptop sling was the optimal fit for me.
For something that is mostly made of leather, you would except the laptop sling to be dense and heavy. It is quite a pleasant surprise that the bag itself is about as heavy as an apple, and even once it is loaded up we are looking at a maximum of 20 pounds you will be walking around with.
Between the material and how everything is pieced together, it is easy to tell that this bag is made to last. However, knowing that the laptop sling comes with a lifetime guarantee is extremely comforting.
WHAT I WASN’T CRAZY ABOUT
Overall Size of the Laptop Sling
The 171 Laptop Sling is made for a 14″ laptop or smaller. Unfortunately, anything larger, even a 15″ laptop, will not fit into the bag. If you like to travel with a lot of stuff and bulkier items, then you might be better off just rocking a backpack.
That being said, the GRAMS28 team has announced that they are currently engineering larger models of the laptop sling that can hold bigger devices and have more room.
WHO IS THIS FOR?

For white-collar workers who often travel light and need their laptop everywhere they go, this is the optimal bag to show up to conferences and other work-related events looking suave and professional.
