Independent artist and songwriter Leonie Persch is making a name for herself in the music industry. With over 60 million streams, chart success on iTunes, and a Disney sync contract for the series Pretty Freekin’ Scary, her career is only looking up. Leonie speaks about her creative process, the importance of silence, and what authenticity means to her as an artist.
Q: You’ve had great success with your music, including landing a Disney sync deal. What do you consider some of the highlights of your career so far?
Leonie Persch: Honestly, being able to travel and collaborate with so many talented people from around the world has been one of the biggest highlights. It has taught and inspired me so much. I couldn’t imagine doing this while sitting in a room by myself all the time. Collaboration is something I truly value and never want to miss. I also enjoyed partnering with labels like Universal, Spinnin, Warner, and STMPD while I was focusing a lot on EDM music. Further, launching my own three solo artist projects under different aliases —Bonny Lauren, EVIE, and Francie Eliott—has been a great journey for me.

Q: What has been the most important force in your creative process?
Leonie Persch: Silence was necessary for new creation. At the beginning of each writing session, silence is my canvas. Without silence, you can’t appreciate the sound. It allows me to reflect, to connect with my emotions, and to truly express authenticity in my music. I think the most powerful moments often come from quiet introspection, which leads to the most genuine creations. Through music, I’ve found my way to authenticity. It taught me to embrace my truth.
Q: What were some of the biggest challenges in your music career so far and how did you overcome them?
Leonie Persch:
Throughout my journey in music, I faced challenges in navigating partnerships that eventually became untrustworthy. I’ve had to learn how to set boundaries, and I’ve realized that I needed to trust myself more, to not care so much about other people’s opinions, and to embrace my individuality as an artist. Of course, there will always be people who you can learn a lot from, but there’s a time to listen to others and there’s a time to listen to yourself. Just listen to that inner voice and speak up if necessary!
Q: Looking to the future, what are your aspirations?
Leonie Persch:
I never want to stop creating and I might currently be working on my most meaningful project yet. I hope that my creative process will keep forcing me to not only grow as an artist but as an individual. I’m excited about what’s to come and where my journey will take me next.
Through her introspective approach and deep connection to silence and authenticity, Leonie Persch has carved out a space that is uniquely her own. As she continues to push boundaries, exploring new creative paths and projects, Leonie’s passion for music and dedication to her craft serve as an inspiration to aspiring artists everywhere. In her words, “Music can actually make pain feel good,” and it’s clear that through her work, she transforms personal challenges into art that resonates with listeners on a deeply emotional level. The future holds much promise for Leonie, and as she continues her journey, her voice—authentic and raw—will undoubtedly touch even more hearts.
