The Motet – Love Time [The Motet]

The Motet has been releasing modern funk music for the last 24 years, and this November they release their latest full-length LP Love Time. The title track “Love Time” is a great example of the band’s ability to blend 80s funk, jazz, and just a dash of disco to create timeless jams.

Flight Facilities and DRAMA – Dancing On My Own [Glitterbox Recordings]

The total surprise release of November is Flight Facilities and DRAMA’s “Dancing On My Own” on the illustrious Glitterbox Records! This track is about finding self-love and acceptance, getting out there, and letting your freak flag fly! Welcome back to the disco boys!

Mannix – In Praise Of The Sun (Jack District Remix) [Dafia Records]

Dafia Records label boss Mannix Kling is bringing us a little lowkey sunshine with his elegant track “In Praise Of The Sun”. The Jack District remix adds some jazzy disco swagger to the track, making it perfect for sunning, lounging, or getting a little bit closer to someone.

Tom Noble – Please Take Me There [Razor-N-Tape]

Tom Noble‘s House Of Spirits LP is 10+ years in the making, and every track is worth the wait! “Please Take Me There” is an old-school homage to funky disco, a veritable soup of sweet harmonies backed by thumpin’ bass, four-on-the-floor rhythms, jamming guitars, and an extended instrumental jam to bring it all home!

Woody Braun – Motorbooty Ryde [Funky French League]

Woody Braun‘s pedigree is well known in France as a saxophone player, DJ, as well as a producer with Funky French League, so it should come as no surprise that Braun is going to produce top-notch disco, and “Motorbooty Ryde” is a fine example of what he is capable of. I dare you not to dance to this soon-to-be disco classic!

Hifi Sean, DeVonde and Inaya Day – Redemption [Classics By Kookoo]

Hifi Sean has cooked up a classic disco banger with “Redemption”, featuring vocals from DeVonde and her cousin, powerhouse vocalist Inaya Day. This track is about our ability to turn our lives around in a positive direction, a message we could all use when we are down. Preach!

Mark Lower – Honey feat. Enya [Sakura Music]

Mark Lower is back with his bouncy new single ‘Honey” featuring vocalist Enya (not that Enya). The song is the perfect pick-me-up for this time of year, with its uplifting lyrics wrapped in sweet strings and funky bassline. This track is a true party starter!

salute – Heaven In Your Arms feat. Jessie Ware [Ninja Tune]

Producer salute has partnered with disco diva Jessie Ware on “Heaven In Your Arms”, an anthemic nu-disco gem that will get you moving from the first note! salute has certainly been influenced by Disclosure, and Ware has been a featured vocalist with the Disclosure boys, so this partnership sounds very natural. Check out salute’s EP where Rina Sawayama and Disclosure are featured.

Pacha – One Kiss (Dave’s Heavenly Star Mix) [Z Records]

This classic 1991 track by Pacha is so good that Dave Lee decided to take another pass at it, this time taking it out of house and into the disco! “One Kiss” sounds fresh as a daisy, and in typical Lee form, this could have been released in 1979 or 2024!

Rocoe – Ron On Acid (Turbofunk Extended Mix) [Groove Culture]

Rocoe‘s “Ron On Acid” is hands down the funkiest track I’ve heard in quite a while! The opening bass notes slap you immediately and the whistles in the middle of the track propel the listener into outer space! This trip is certainly a fun one!

D.C. LaRue – Deep Dark Delicious Night (Daisuke Miyamoto Remix) [Dafia Records]

Daisuke Miyamoto‘s remix of D.C. LaRue‘s “Deep Dark Delicious Night” has a bit of a magical quality to it. All of the original disco elements are still here, but the campy vocals are brightened up and surrounded by a driving bass and rhythm section. Of all the modern updates to LaRue’s catalog, this might be my favorite one yet.

Cerrone – Give Me Love (Louie Vega Remix Edit) [Malligator]

What do you do with a classic Cerrone track to update it for today’s dancefloor? You give it to legendary producer Louie Vega. “Give Me Love” is an iconic track that seems like it would be impossible to add anything to it, but Vega has added layers of tribal and Latin influences and made the track feel brand ew!

Love Is A Bassline & Yam Who? – Luck feat. Valerie M. [Midnight Riot!]

Love Is A Bassline alongside Midnight Riot! staple Yam Who? has created a mashup of sorts with “Luck”. The music is classic disco with a splash of dancehall-style vocals from Valerie M. Both styles blend seamlessly and creates a sound that is perfect for the modern dancefloor!

The Magician – USA feat. Jake Shears [Potion Records]

If you want to be transported back to 1984, look no further than The Magician‘s (Stephen Fasano) “USA”, featuring the magnificent vocals of Jake Shears. The new album Voyage is a true nu-disco homage to an era gone by while sounding fresh and current.

Sammy Deuce – Living It Up [ArtFunk Records]

Sammy Deuce is always creating new music, and November gives us “Living It Up”, a swinging disco anthem that will keep your party rolling! This track puts the fun back in funky! Check it out on ArtFunk Records.
