Moog has unveiled a new limited edition synth called the Sirin. The Sirin was created and first revealed at its Moog House of Electronics pop up in LA.
The new synth is based on the Moog Taurus sound engine, packed into a body with the similar size of a Minitaur. It is the first in the Taurus family of bas synths to generate pitches above middle C with a range that reaches D8.
To make this work, the Sirin uses two analog Taurus bass oscillators that have been reengineered to octaves beyond their bassy predecessors for big leads. A four-pole ladder, two ADSR envelopes and multi-wave LFO all work together to create a wide range of sounds.
The Sirin can connect directly to any MIDI-note controller or to a computer via USB. It has its own dedicated and free editor librarian software. You will be able to save up to 128 presents.
The Sirin will be available at their pop up in Los Angeles, which is going on between now and January 30.
